Presentation

Located between the sea and the Rhône, the Domaine de la Palissade, a site belonging to the Coastal Conservatory, is located outside the dikes, which gives it a particular ecological interest, with specific flora and fauna. It is the last territory which bears witness to the natural evolution of the Rhône delta.

The La Palissade estate, located between Salin de Giraud and the coast, covers 702 hectares on the right bank of the Grand Rhône. It is entirely outside the dikes that protect the lower Camargue from invasion by river or sea waters, which gives it a very particular ecological interest, with specific flora and fauna. It is the last territory which testifies to the natural evolution of the delta. Formerly an area used exclusively for breeding, fishing and hunting, the Coastal Conservatory acquired it in 1976.

Closed Monday and Tuesday.
Closed exceptionally on November 11th.
