Presentation

Sylvain Groud, choreographer and director of the CCN of Roubaix, former dancer of the Preljocaj ballet, returns to Martigues with a creation further testifying to his unshakeable faith in humanity.
The Banquet of Wonders plunges us into the heart of humanity, revealing its shadowy areas and flashes of light.

The curtain rises on a gray world, kneaded with ashes, inhabited by contorted shapes trampled by an indifferent crowd. This vision pushes us into the unspeakable: faced with this chaos, how can we regain our empathy, our sense of sharing, our capacity to marvel? By giving voice to those who are ignored, Sylvain Groud releases this hidden part of ourselves, eager to shine. Dancers and musicians will, each in their own way, dismantle what was played out in advance through the sweat of their artistic gesture, inviting us to create together this Banquet of Wonders, where utopia becomes possible.
