Presentation
As every year, enjoy the European Heritage Days in Martigues. What is the theme of the 2026 edition? Photographic heritage and heritage at risk: reviving, resisting, and reimagining.
You are invited to explore, discover, or rediscover Martigues through tours, workshops, and activities.
The Tourist Office program. Register at the office or online at martigues-tourisme.com.
- September 7 to 21: Heritage Photo Rally – "Focus on the Island!"
Armed with your smartphone, become a true "time detective." The goal? Find three iconic historical spots scattered throughout the "Venice of Provence."
From the picturesque charm of the *Miroir aux Oiseaux* (Mirror of the Birds) to the colorful facades along the Saint-Sébastien canal, see the city with fresh eyes. The shot that most closely matches the framing of the original photo wins a 100% Martigues-themed decoration worth €35.
- September 19 at 9:30 AM: Capture the Soul of the Island – an unusual photography walk.
Let yourself be guided through the secret alleyways of the *Île* (Island) district, camera in hand and eyes wide open. Alongside a passionate photographer from the Martigues Photo Club, you will learn to see what we often overlook: a facade weathered by salt and time, a blue shutter cracked by the summer heat, the reflection of a canal shimmering in the golden light...
Also, check out our self-guided trails: "Discover Martigues via a treasure hunt" (ages 6+), fun walks in the Grand Parc de Figuerolles or along the Côte Bleue coastline (ages 4+), and a "Provence Odyssey" by My Explore Bag (ages 6+).
