Alonzo King continues to push the boundaries of artistic expression through unique collaborations with composers, musicians and artists from all disciplines.

Each of his creations is unique and the subject of worldwide enthusiasm. Deep River is no exception.

Much more than a simple dance performance, Deep River is a profound exploration of the human condition, a love letter to a suffering world. On stage, LINES Ballet's virtuoso dancers weave connections through solos and pas de deux, creating a captivating visual symphony that touches the heart. Accompanied by the haunting compositions of pianist Jason Moran and the captivating voice of Lisa Fischer, the piece draws on African and Jewish musical traditions to convey a message of hope and determination in the face of adversity.
