Immerse yourself in the cinematic history of Martigues at a talk given by Sylvie Morata, manager and development officer of the Cinémathèque municipale Prosper Gnidzaz. At the Office de Tourisme et des Loisirs, quartier de l'île.
Over the decades, Martigues has become a favourite setting for many film-makers. With its Mediterranean light, varied natural scenery and postcard atmosphere, the Venice of Provence has inspired the 7th art for over a century.
Through anecdotes, archive extracts and rare images, this talk retraces the great moments of cinema in Martigues, looking at emblematic film shoots, technical developments and the cultural impact of this living heritage.
It's a not-to-be-missed event for film buffs, those curious about local history and those who simply love Martigues.
As part of the ‘Martigues, terre de cinéma’ exhibition, on show at the Tourist Office from 30 June to 31 October 2025.
