What if the alleyways, canals, and landscapes of Martigues could speak? They would tell the story of a century of cinema, moving cameras, and artists' visions.
Sylvie Morata, head of the Martigues Cinematheque, invites you to a unique lecture, free upon registration, in the vibrant setting of the exhibition "Martigues, Land of Cinema," currently on display at the Tourist Office until October 31.
Come (re)discover the great moments of cinema filmed in Martigues through a lecture that is both entertaining and scholarly. Rare visual archives, anecdotes from unusual film shoots, forgotten images... so many fragments of history that give voice and light to the city sometimes nicknamed the "Provençal Venice" of cinema.
On the program: a cinematic journey retracing the evolution of technology, from black and white to 4K, as well as the cultural upheavals these works have brought to our region.
Meet at the Martigues Tourist Office, in the exhibition hall, for a moment of sharing and passion, between filmed memory and living heritage.
Free admission, registration required — limited number of places.
