Presentation

It is likely that the foundation of this village, located on a rocky outcrop, dates back to the time when the neighboring town of Ugium (now Saint-Blaise) was sacked by Saracen troops, around the 9th century.
But it was only after the town of Castelveyre (built on the ruins of Ugium) had been looted and sacked by the troops of Raymond de Turenne, Lord of Baux, that the Archbishop of Arles authorized the population to protect yourself by ramparts (1395-1410) which still exist almost entirely and which are listed as Historic Monuments.
Beautiful city portals to the North and South.
In the extension of the Irénée Sabatier, beyond the rue Simiot, is a windmill from 1626.
Opening period (s)From 01/01/2019 to 31/12/2021, daily.
