Itinerary :
From Riez, follow the D11 and take the direction of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon typical Provencal village located at 513m altitude, overlooks the lake of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon from a rocky spur.

Follow the direction of Baudinard-sur-Verdon and stop at the dam of Sainte-Croix, with a breathtaking view on the lake. Then follow the D111 in the direction of D211 and reach Montpezat

Continue on the road along the lake of Montpezat in the direction of Saint Laurent-du-Verdon. You can visit the spectacular site of the Baudinard gorges either by walking along a red marked path from the place called Saint Jaume, or by renting a canoe (rental in Saint Laurent or in Montpezat).
A track located 200m upstream from the bridge linking Montpezat to Baudinard allows access to the river. The narrowness of the gorges is impressive and the show becomes magical when arriving on the lake Ste-Croix, with the walls covered with moss and ferns.

- The Coteau Chiron hike in the Verdon: from the pretty village of Saint-Laurent-du-Verdon, this family walk takes you through the fields to the beaches of Lake Saint-Laurent, before climbing the Coteau Chiron hill where the panorama of the Verdon, its gorges and the lake of Montpezat is remarkable.

Then, continue towards Artignosc-sur-Verdon by the D471, then join the D71 in the direction of Montmeyan, a fortified medieval village built at an altitude of 504 meters on a rocky promontory in the middle of the plain.

Then, go back down to the D13 in the direction of Quinson. Located in an amphitheater between the limestone cliffs and the Verdon river, the actual village was built in the XVth century around a solid defensive rampart with 7 crenellated towers and two fortified doors.

Continue the circuit and join Esparron-de-Verdon by the D15, a magnificent view on the lake awaits you as soon as you arrive in the village. Many parking lots are at your disposal (be careful, they are quickly full in high season). You can take advantage of your stop to discover this small village, admire its castle, but especially to swim in the clear waters of the Verdon. Electric boats, canoes, windsurfers... are waiting for you at the water's edge to take you to the heart of the lake, at the foot of the dam or in the Basses-Gorges, up to the Quinson lake. Then finish your journey to Gréoux-Les-Bains (D315 and D952), 3rd thermal spa in France. This road overhangs the lake of Esparron-de-Verdon and offers many magnificent viewpoints. A stop is possible on a belvedere, a little before the dam.
