This itinerary allows you to discover the journey pursued by Angelo Pardi, hero of the novel "Le Hussard sur le toit" by Jean Giono.
Follow the tracks of the Hussar on the roof, from Manosque to Sisteron.
Breathe the air of Provence, take part in the adventure, as in the peregrinations and rides colonel of Piedmontese hussar in 1938.
Itinerary:
Angelo starts by asking the road to Banon to a peasant woman who then shows him the direction to follow. From Manosque, join the road to
Banon (40 km) following the D907, D14 and D5 that cross the villages of Reillanne and Vachères.

To emerge, like Angelo, on the Grand'Route, the D4096 which leads from Sisteron towards Manosque, while skirting the Durance. Continue on the D4096 towards La Brillanne (13 km). On the right, you will see the village of Lurs, perched on its rocky spur. Cross La Brillanne before returning to Manosque. It escapes from Peyruis and stops at a roadside inn some two kilometers before La Brillanne, just below the village of Lurs. From there, he crossed a village announced by an alley of plane trees; it was La Brillanne. He arrived in Manosque at nightfall; he had left the blaze of Sisteron two days earlier.)
