Presentation

The prosperity of the town of Tarascon led to a number of noble families settling there from the 15th century.
Aristocrats, bourgeois, traders and clergymen who wanted to make their mark on the urban landscape built splendid private residences here.
Thanks to their wonderful exterior decoration, the façades of these mansions testify to many different individual solutions, replaced by the magnificent expression of Provençal Mannerism in the early 17th century, a low-key period for architecture in Provence.
These civil buildings, located around Saint Marthe Collegiate Church, as far as the shopping street of Les Halles and in the old districts of Saint Nicolas and La Condamine which used to connect the château to the Route d'Avignon, generally played a strategic role in the town.
Opening period (s)From 01/01 to 31/12, daily.
