Presentation

10:00 a.m.: Meet at the Tourist Office with your guide. Visit to the Annonciade Chapel. Under restoration for many years, the chapel, classified as a Historic Monument, has reopened its doors and presents its singular beauty characteristic of Provençal baroque. 12:00 p.m.: Lunch at the restaurant.

2:00 p.m.: Visit the city, going up to Notre-Dame-des-marins with your bus, from where you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the city of Martigues. Then guided tour of the old district: the archaeological showcase of Place Maritima, the classified site of the Miroir aux Oiseaux which has attracted many painters (Dufy, Corot, Picabia, Cézanne, Ziem, etc.), the Madeleine church, the house in Gendarme hat which was the filming location for “la cuisine au Beurre” with Bourvil and Fernandel…

4:00 p.m.: 2 options

- Visit to the History Gallery of Martigues. The Gallery traces the memory of a thousand-year-old city and its inhabitants. Visit this interactive space made up of 2 rooms presenting the evolution of Martigues from prehistory to future projects.
- Visit to the Gnidzaz Cinematheque. A true cinema museum, you will discover the function of a film library, the history of cinema and the numerous films filmed in Martigues.
