Day visit around the cinema
Presentation
10 a.m.: Meet at the Gnidzaz Cinematheque
From the 1910s, Martigues became a filming location. In 2007 Prosper Gnidzaz, a passionate cinema collector, offered the municipality his collection of 2,250 reels and 79 projection devices, the oldest of which date from 1880.
The City then decided to dedicate a space dedicated to the 7th art to it. The Prosper Gnidzaz Cinema Space was inaugurated in May 2011 in a renovated chapel dating from the 17th century. On a surface area of 260 m2, it offers the opportunity to discover technical developments in cinema, from the first animated images to 3D. In 2013, it became “La Cinémathèque Gnidzaz”.
Guided tour followed by the screening of an extract from the film “La cuisine au verre”.
Lunch at the restaurant.
2:15 p.m.: Meet in front of the Gnidzaz Cinematheque for a walking and boat tour
An immersion in the history of cinema, on foot and by boat, from the Cinémathèque Gnidzaz to the town of Port-de-Bouc.
From the film "Toni" (by Jean Renoir) to "Titane", Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival (by Julia Ducournau) via "The Walking dead: Dead City", spin-off of the cult series "The Walking Dead"... the Cinémathèque invites you to discover behind the scenes of the history of our cinematographic heritage.
