Grand Parc de Figuerolles
Park and gardenPresentation
Over 130 hectares of greenery, the Grand Parc de Figuerolles, the town's green lung, stretches to the edge of the Berre pond. Multifaceted, it offers multiple activities for families.
The large park of Figuerolles has been specially designed to enjoy nature in peace. Shaded thanks to the many trees on the ground, picnic tables are at your disposal. Ideal for spending a day at the park!
For kids :
- Play areas for the little ones near the picnic tables
- A carousel of yesteryear with old cars and small horses next to a stand of delicacies and sweets (churros, donuts, sweets...).
- An educational farm (free) to discover sheep, rabbits and other farm animals, some of which are free.
- A secure tree climbing course dedicated to the little ones.
For older children:
- A mountain bike area equipped for BMX enthusiasts.
- 4 tree climbing courses of different levels with zip lines.
- An equestrian area.
- Architectural curiosities including a 15 meter high tower in the heart of the scrubland. With its battlements, its loophole and its engraved signs, it is a water tower built in 1899 and which was used for agricultural activity until 1982. The structure was dressed in trompe-l eye according to the art of rockwork launched by Napoleon III.
For nature lovers:
- Beautiful hikes and other walks including the Boucle de Figuerolles (5km) which offers a breathtaking view of the Etang de Berre.
- The footpath of the restanques, the Mediterranean garden and the route dedicated to agricultural heritage to discover the history of this place.
If you're feeling really hungry, sit down at the Cantine du Mas (Snack de Figuerolles) and savor hot or cold paninis, mixed salads and sandwiches or hamburgers. Afternoon tea: pancakes, waffles and other hot drinks.
