The Sea and Saint-Pierre Festival is the unmissable event in Martigues, a fishing town. Traditional rowing challenges, games of yesteryear, fishermen's mass, artists' exhibitions, procession, nautical parade and drone show.
An annual meeting not to be missed to pay tribute to the sailors and fishermen who have animated Martigues for so many years!

4 p.m.: Challenge of traditional oars on the forecourt of the Town Hall.
The Venetian rowers have forged their reputation in Martigues as much as that of the Martegal jousters. For the Fête de la Mer and Saint-Pierre, the rowers put themselves on stage and will amaze you during this maritime challenge.

5 p.m.: Games of Yesteryear on the Place de la Liberation.
Young and old can learn about wooden games and other activities initiated by the elders of Martigues. Nothing better than enjoying a friendly moment with the family.

6 p.m.: Fishermen's mass at the Madeleine church and exhibition of maritime artists on Place Jean Jaurès (Ferrières).
It is at the end of the day that the painters will settle in the square to exhibit their most beautiful creations (paintings, drawings, photos) on the theme of the sea. This will also be the start of the mass in memories missing at sea. A religious and traditional ceremony not to be missed.

7 p.m.: Procession of Saint Peter.
Then follows a parade through the streets of Martigues to pay homage to the Patron Saint from the church. A blessing between the two blue bridges, facing the setting sun that will make the show even more magical. Saint-Pierre is the essential figure of Provence and Martigues, the ancestral symbol of a feast of the sea.

7:30 p.m.: Nautical parade in honor of missing sailors.
A parade that will rally the public along the canals of "La Venise Provençale". Captains, take part in the procession in the heart of the Etang de Berre. Perhaps you would be lucky enough to be able to board one of the boats and thus take part in this adventure?

10:30 p.m.: Drone shows at the Théâtre de Verdure.
This is the novelty for this 2023 edition! A colorful show that will delight young and old during this night show.
Opening period (s)Saturday 1st of July 2023 between 4 pm and 11 pm.
