Pescadous! (fishermen in Provençal), join in the most convivial traditional fishing party of the summer! This is a unique day out on the Côte Bleue, not just a demonstration for tourists, but an experience to be enjoyed by all, at sea or on foot.
- 7:00 AM: Registration open to all, no license required. Meet at the Fish Market, €5 per person (free for children under 12). Two categories: on foot or by boat.
If you have your own boat, assemble your crew, but be aware that the total weight of your catch will be divided by the number of anglers. This way, each participant will be ranked individually.
If you are on foot, the Carro shoreline offers numerous opportunities. The seashore teems with rockfish. The port quays allow children to safely fish for dozens of gobies (always under supervision).
- 7:30 AM: The starting gun fires!
- 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Fishing trip. Your catch will be weighed in front of an audience, and you'll take it home.
- 12:30 PM: Prize-giving ceremony.
- 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM: Evening of Carro fish soup, screenings, and exhibitions about fishing. - 9-11 pm: Open-air cinema (Flo by Géraldine Danon).
To celebrate the heritage of the Port of Carro, volunteers are offering you the opportunity to taste Carro fish during a meal reserved for only 100 guests! A large table will be set up on the Quai de la Digue du Port (Port Breakwater Quay) to enjoy Fish Soup prepared by our volunteers using local catches. Documentary films restored for the occasion will be shown to pay tribute to the fishermen of Carro.
Dinner includes:
- Gambetta beer, lemonade
- Appetizers
- Rockfish Soup with homemade aioli and croutons
- Farmhouse raw goat's milk cheese
- Dessert
- Filter coffee
This menu, served at the table, must be reserved as soon as possible through our online shop.
Don't forget: a fishing rod with equipment, a hat, cap or bucket hat, bait (also for sale on site), patience and 5 euros (with change if possible).
