The Martigues Fishing Week takes place in mid-August on the square in front of the Martigues Town Hall.

One of the essential events of the summer in Martigues.
At the end of each day, the fishermen return to the port and weigh their fish. The fisherman with the biggest fish at the end of the championship is the winner.
End the evening in the port with a convivial meal and music.
- Wednesday 9, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 August, the public meets at 5.30 pm at the nautical club for the arrival of the boats and the weighing of the fish.
- Saturday 12 August: 1/2 day of catching up if the weather is bad.
Press conference on recreational fishing.
Parade of crews, closing ceremony and prize-giving.
Dancing parties with meals are proposed on three days, from 8 pm to midnight
on the square of the Martigues Town Hall.
- Thursday 10 August: Giant tuna fish. 18 euros.
- Friday 11 August: Pig on the spit. 18 euros.
- Saturday 12 August: Giant tuna fish. 18 euros.
Price of meal for children under 12: 8 euros.

The notoriety of these evenings is no longer to be demonstrated and the enthusiasm of the inhabitants of Martigues and the tourists present during this period means that these evenings are eagerly awaited.
