Presentation
Looking for a unique outdoor activity in Martigues? Join an introductory morning session on agroforestry and a participatory pomegranate harvest in Saint-Julien-les-Martigues, followed by a tasting of local Provençal products.
The Côté Grenades farm, run by Evelyne Lopez, is opening its doors to the public for a three-hour countryside workshop.
Located in Saint-Julien-les-Martigues (Bouches-du-Rhône), this orchard—managed using agroforestry principles—showcases ecological farming practices that respect biodiversity.
During the guided tour, you will discover how combining trees and crops fosters a sustainable ecosystem.
Event program:
- Welcome and guided tour: An introduction to the fundamentals of agroforestry and a tour of the pomegranate orchard.
- Hands-on harvesting workshop: A practical, immersive experience in the orchard to pick fresh pomegranates.
- Local product tasting: A friendly gathering to sample pomegranate juice, artisanal jams, jellies (verbena, thyme), and homemade syrups, alongside breads and cheeses from regional producers (Bernard Thoron, Thierry Serein).
