Presentation
Fancy a shared reading break? This is for anyone who enjoys reading aloud or listening to stories. Whether you prefer a hot cup of tea or a draft beer, come along and share your favorite books—either by reading them aloud or simply enjoying them in quiet company!
A workshop open to everyone: the blind, the visually impaired, those with learning disabilities (dyslexia, etc.), people currently learning to read, and more.
This month, we will explore the novel "Alors, c'est bien" ("So, That’s Good") by Clémentine Mélois.
"I must tell this story while I still have blue paint on my hands. It will eventually fade away, and I fear that the memories might vanish along with it—like a dream that slips away upon waking, impossible to hold onto. With this blue paint, I decorated Papa’s coffin." Bernard Mélois is a sculptor. As he nears the end of his life, his daughters return to their childhood home. Together with their mother, friends, and neighbors, they transform his death into a celebration and his funeral into a work of art. From a journey to Brittany to have a cross enameled, to the customization of the coffin, and the preparations for a ceremony as grand as a concert at the Stade de France—the author recounts, with tenderness and humor, this surreal period and the story of an extraordinary father whose voice illuminates the narrative.
