The holidays are here! During this magical end-of-year holiday season, Martigues offers you many free events and activities in the three districts of the city center. Discover your Christmas program.

For safety reasons, the Christmas market and all the fairground rides will be closed all day due to the yellow alert on Friday 20 December (strong winds in excess of 100 km/h).

Christmas highlights in Martigues.
From 12 to 24 December: Christmas Market.
Every day from 10am to 7pm except Friday 13, Monday 16 and Tuesday 17/12 from 3pm to 7pm (closing at 5pm on Tuesday 24).

Friday 13 December from 6pm to 8pm: countdown and launch of the illuminations by the Mayor. Fireworks, Father Christmas, distribution of sweets and other surprises. Place de La Libération.

From 13 to 29 December: Decorated and animated kiosks, every day from 8am to 10.30pm (non-stop). Place de la Libération.

From 13 to 31 December (except 25/12) from 11am to 7pm: Merry-go-rounds for children. Place Gérard Tenque, Cours du 4 septembre, Place des Martyrs, Place Jean Jaurès, Place du marché à La Couronne. Ends at 5pm on Tuesday 24/12.

Saturday 14 December at 7pm: fireworks from the Jardin de la Rode. In the event of bad weather, postponement to 7pm on 15 December.

Horse-drawn carriage rides: Saturday 14/12 from 2pm to 6pm, Sunday 15/12 from 2pm to 5pm. Saturday 21 to Tuesday 24 December, 2pm to 6pm. Ends at 5pm on Tuesday 24/12. Departure and arrival at Quai des Girondins in Ferrières, in front of the coach stop.

Pony rides. Departure from rue Ramade, Jonquières town centre.
Saturday 14, Sunday 15 and Wednesday 18 December, 2pm to 6pm.
From 21/12 to 31 December (except 25/12 and 30/12), daily from 2pm to 6pm.

The little tourist train will only run on the following days:
- Saturday 14 December from 2pm to 7pm and Sunday 15 December from 2pm to 5pm.
- Wednesday 18 December from 2pm to 7pm.
- From 21/12 to 31/12/2024, every day from 2pm to 7pm except 25/12. (Closes at 5.30pm on Tuesdays 24 and 31/12).
Departure and arrival from the Hôtel de l'agglomération. You are free to get on and off at the following stops: Hôtel d'agglomération and quai des Girondins (Ferrières), Quai Kléber (l'île), Eglise Saint-Genest, parking Ziem and quai Général Leclerc (Jonquières), Retour Hôtel d'agglomération (Ferrières).

Santa's chalet on Place de la Libération from 2pm to 6pm: Saturday 14 and Sunday 15, Wednesday 18, Saturday 21 to Tuesday 24 December (ends at 5pm on 24/12).

Educational farms: 14, 15, 1 8, 21 and 23 December from 10.30am to 5.30pm on the 4 September course in Jonquières.
Sheep, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, geese...

Activities on the Place Jean Jaurès: 14, 15, 18 and from 21 to 24 December from 2pm to 6pm. Creative workshops and face painting.
Board games with the fées parta'jeux. Ends at 5pm on Tuesday 24/12.

Activities in Jonquières.
- 14, 15, 18 and from 21 to 24/12 from 2pm to 6pm: Make-up workshops in Place Lamartine.
- 14, 15, 18, 21 to 24 and 26 to 31/12 from 2pm to 6pm: mini golf (rue Ramade), wooden games (rue Lamartine), interactive games and large board games (Place Lamartine).
No activities on 25 and 30 December. Ends at 5pm on 24 and 31/12.

Parades.
- Saturday 14 December at 2.30pm and 4.30pm: The parade of princes and princesses in Jonquières town centre.
- Sunday 15 December from 5pm to 6.30pm: Christmas parade with music on the theme of the North Pole. Departure from the Jonquières district, quai Général Leclerc, towards Ferrières via quai Tessé, then back to Jonquières via quai Kléber.
- Saturday 21 December at 3.30pm and 5.30pm: The illuminated white parade. Artists will parade around in white outfits illuminated by LEDs. Jonquières town centre.
- Monday 23 December at 2.30pm and 4.30pm: The mascot parade. Jonquières town centre.
- 14, 18, 22, 23 and 24 December from 2pm to 6pm: Parade of mascots with cartoon characters. Each day, a different cartoon. Place Jean Jaurès. Several shows throughout the afternoon.

Saturday 21, Sunday 22 and Monday 23 December: Christmas Video Mapping from 5.30pm to 9pm (non-stop broadcasting). Quai Brescon, Miroir aux Oiseaux.

Saturday 21 December from 5pm to 6.30pm: Father Christmas arrives by boat. Quai Tessé, between the blue bridges.

Saturday 21 December, Cours du 4 septembre and Monday 23 December, Place Jean Jaurès from 2pm to 6pm: Afternoon entertainment with the Maritima bus. Podium bus with Father Christmas and photo opportunity, balloon sculpture workshop.

Sunday 22 December from 5.30pm to 7.30pm: Laser Show ‘L'Iris des cieux’. Meet in front of La Cascade cinema.

Monday 23 December at 7pm: Illuminated drone show. 12-minute show with more than 250 drones in the skies over Martale. In the event of bad weather, the show may be postponed until 7pm on 28 December.

Tuesday 24 December from 11am to 5pm: Meet Santa's reindeer. Classes on 4 September.

From 3 to 20 December: the enchantment of Christmas will also be present in all the districts of Martigues, with strolls, shows, Christmas snacks, dances, workshops...
