If locals, music lovers, culture buffs, party-goers, and a few pirates know Marseille’s own Tony Swarez well, it’s because he’s been hauling around original ideas, record collections, rare gems, and sound systems since the days when the "Web" referred only to fabric or cinema. The driving force behind nomadic parties in a host of French and European cities, Tony steers his musical ship by devising clever, hybrid setups to share his sonic passions with the widest possible audience.
CYCLO SONIDO is a lightweight mobile unit featuring a human-sized jukebox and an array of rare (or not-so-rare) sound objects.
- INTERACTIVE JUKEBOX (7 PM – 9 PM)
The listener becomes a participant, selecting tracks that Tony pulls from his vast, eclectic vinyl collection and spins on his solar-powered turntables.
- DJ SET (10:30 PM – Midnight)
A digital DJ set to keep the vibe going!
MOUSSU T E LEI JOVENTS (9 PM – 10:30 PM)
For some twenty years, Moussu T e lei Jovents have navigated between Marseille and the Americas, bridging the heart of the 20th century and the momentum of the 21st. Founded by Tatou and Blu—respectively an MC and a guitarist from Massilia Sound System—what began as a side project gradually evolved into one of the most exciting bands on the French scene, blending Occitan urban poetry, Creole rhythms, and blues guitar. Today, they are a key fixture of the French musical landscape; undisputed icons of Occitan song, the band is now cementing its reputation well beyond France's borders. Beyond their sources of inspiration—ranging from the music of northeastern Brazil to the operetta and chanson repertoire of 1930s Marseille—Moussu T e lei Jovents have successfully forged a unique style that blends *chanson* with Mediterranean blues. Now recognized worldwide, Moussu T e lei Jovents stand as ambassadors of Marseille’s music, much like other leading world music acts.
