Mbénam is a Paris-born DJ and performer who began her career shortly after arriving in Marseille in 2022.
Her artist name, which means ‘The House of the Sun’ in Bamiléké, perfectly captures the spirit of her sets. Blending Afrobeats, house, baile funk and amapiano, she has no hesitation in drawing on a wide range of Afro-descendant musical styles to compose her motley, rhythmic and sun-drenched sets.
With her musical selection, the artist seeks to create a space-time during her performances where the dance is put back at the centre of the action.
- Sweetanaz.
Influenced by house, dancehall and kompa sounds, Sweetanaz, who was born in Vénissieux, decided to set up her own collective, Heat Collectif, at the beginning of 2024 with her faithful partner Mbénam.
