Presentation

El Gato Negro sails between French and Spanish, his lyrics saudade, between tropical music and French chanson, Latin influences and West Africa. On stage at the Cour de l'île, in the open air. Free, no booking required.
Les Fadas de Musique, held on Mondays in the courtyard of L'Île, is an opportunity for residents and visitors to Martigues to encounter a singular artistic universe.

Nourished by 15 years of travelling, cumbia, salsa, paso, cha cha and bolero, Afro-Cuban and African music, and a host of artistic collaborations (La Yegros, Calypso Rose, Oxmo Puccino, Guts... ), Toulouse-based El Gato Negro has toured the world following the releases of ‘Cumbia Libre’ (in 2015, sold 10,000 copies) and ‘Ouvre la porte’ (in 2019, in partnership with Amnesty International and La Cimade).
