As part of the Science Festival, find all the workshops and activities offered in Martigues.
2025 Program:
- October 4 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the L. Aragon Media Library: Lecture "Water in the Universe" by Martial Aude, amateur astronomer.
The famous water molecule, H2O, is present everywhere in the universe, but when and how did it form, and what role did stars play in its emergence? Can it be found in distant interstellar clouds, or closer to us in the planets of our solar system? Water is also detected in so many exoplanets, so we may wonder under what conditions this precious molecule is likely to lead to the existence of life.
Register with the Martigues Astronomy Club - +33 7 64 09 11 36.
- October 8 and 11 from 2 p.m.: Science and Digital Village at the Simone Veil Space.
The program includes discovery booths and experimental workshops focused on images and audiovisuals, stop motion, computer music, introduction to computer coding, connected objects, robotics and programming, artificial intelligence, digital manufacturing, 3D printing, video games, virtual reality and augmented reality, and drone piloting and programming.

- October 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the L. Aragon media library: Lecture "The Marseille Tide Gauge and its Friends" by Alain Coulomb, President of the Friends of the Tide Gauge Association. The Marseille Tide Gauge is both a historic monument and a modern sea level observatory. This historic monument was built at the end of the 19th century to determine the origin of continental French altitudes (altitude 0). This objective was achieved using a device containing a mechanical integrator called a totalizer, which is unique in the world today.
