Presentation
To commemorate the start of the Cambodian genocide in 1975, the town of Martigues is hosting an exhibition of photographs by Micheline Dullin (1927-2020). At the Site Pablo Picasso, Espace Silence.
Micheline Dullin, a resident of Martigues and official photographer to Prince Norodom Sihanouk, was on assignment in Cambodia from 1958 to 1964.
Her rare images bear witness to a happy Cambodia, swept away by four years of atrocious war.
To complement the exhibition, conferences, screenings, writing workshops, visual arts, dances, book signings and shadow theatre will take a look at the history of Cambodia
from the 1960s to the present day, and provide an opportunity to reflect on the issues of memory that arise in the context of mass killings.
Full programme to follow.
