Presentation
Actor, author, director and filmmaker, Théo Askolovitch develops a style of writing where the personal blends with fiction to bring forth a lively, raw and humorous voice.
In his latest play, he surrounds himself with five actors to paint, through the history of the legendary Saint-Ouen football club, a portrait of a region and its inhabitants.
Halfway between theatrical fiction, personal narrative, and documentary storytelling, the author explores what this club reveals about the city and its people: those born there, those who live there, and those who arrive. From their stories, from the stands and the streets, emerges a collective history made up of loyalties, breaks, myths, and contradictions. The performance gives voice to a fluid community: old-timers, newcomers, loyal fans, and passersby. It traverses the transformations of a working-class city, long active and politically engaged, now in flux, without ever ceasing to question what remains: attachment, resistance, and a sense of belonging. Between family memory and collective narrative, Nous le Red Star (We the Red Star) creates a sensitive panorama where football becomes a prism through which to view the world.
