Presentation

With Nimble, Alexander Vantournhout brings together nine artists in a contemporary ballet company that explores the rhythmic power of collective movement.
Inspired by the footwork of boxers, the Belgian choreographer chooses to emphasize the lower body, revealing a rare and powerful dimension of movement.

Nimble posits space as a dimension in its own right. How does a collective body composed of nine individuals inscribe itself and transform within it? The performers constantly move, exchanging rhythms and shifting between group and individual forms. The soundtrack, created and performed live by the artists, accompanies this flow in a whirlwind of polyrhythms, loops, and live electronics. The piece unfolds as a thrilling choreography where movement and music propel each other, transforming the stage into a vibrant, collective organism.

As part of the 2027 International Biennial of Circus Arts.
Opening period (s)Thursday 18 February 2027 between 8.30 pm and 9.45 pm.
