Presentation

With My Fierce Ignorant Step, Greek choreographer Christos Papadopoulos celebrates the euphoria of being alive. On stage, ten performers bring forth a vibrant, almost ecstatic soundscape in which the choreography takes shape.
With its minimalist and precise choreography, a collective body moves forward. Breath guides the gesture, transforming it into rhythm, sound, a continuous pulse. Little by little, the dance spreads like a wave, both controlled and carefree. Nourished by the influence of Mikis Theodorakis's monumental work Axion Esti, based on a poem by Odysseus Elytis, the piece explores less the music itself than the intimate and collective landscapes it evokes. Faced with a present marked by political and environmental uncertainties, My Fierce Ignorant Step reactivates this primal energy: that of audacity, desire, and trust in the collective. A piece imbued with a simple yet essential question: how can we rediscover, today, this primal force of forward movement?

This performance is part of the highlight of the Greek contemporary arts program and is supported by the Onassis Stegi Touring Program.
Opening period (s)Tuesday 1st of December 2026 between 8.30 pm and 9.30 pm.
