Guillaume Barbot, who was welcomed in 2025 with Icare, takes on a text from the repertoire for the first time and directs one of Jean-Luc Lagarce's emblematic plays.
With his version of Juste la fin du monde (It's Only the End of the World), he succeeds in revealing its enduring modernity through a sensitive and deeply embodied performance.
The play explores family ties in all their fragility and contradiction, traversed by bursts of love as much as by obstacles. "Not telling you that we loved you must be like not loving you enough," Antoine says to his brother Louis, who has returned to his family to announce his impending death. Juste la fin du monde recounts this impossible return, fraught with unspoken words and tensions. On stage, an immense dollhouse becomes the setting for this tense reunion. The characters cross paths, avoid each other, and clash, all brought to life by a live-mixed soundscape and a set design that is both intimate and spectacular.
