Presentation
In her Atelier Galerie located in the historic heart of “Venice Provençale” this adopted Martegal exhibits her latest creations all summer long. For more than 20 years now, she has painted there and received her visitors with this generosity.
Born in Epinal in 1960, Marguerite Nadal now resides in Martigues. For 25 years now, in her Atelier Galerie located in the historic heart of the island's Venice of Provence, this adopted Martigues resident has exhibited her works all summer long. She paints there and welcomes visitors with the passion that drives her.
Landscapes from here and elsewhere, scenes from everyday life, and portraits coexist in a contemporary style, a blend of figuration and abstraction, texture, and marouflage that gives depth to some of her canvases.
"Total abstraction bothers me; it's often how I begin a painting, but I need to find a point of reference there. It's a starting point for reflection, an idea, an exchange between the painting and me."
We also find landscapes from our region, but not only that... Worlds related to industry are always recurring in her work.
"For me, painting is a form of writing, a form of expression with all its freedom. I like to see people reading my paintings, searching for the hidden phrase. Each time, I need a strong inspiration to approach things from a particular angle and express myself through the subjects."
It's been 25 years since she opened her gallery in this historic center, a stone's throw from the Miroir aux Oiseaux. To celebrate this anniversary, she has created a book featuring some of her paintings depicting Martigues.
Opening on June 7th from 5:30 p.m.
