Presentation

In her Atelier Galerie located in the historic heart of “Venice Provençale” this adopted Martegal exhibits her latest creations all summer long. For more than 20 years now, she has painted there and received her visitors with this generosity.
A self-taught artist, her path as a painter developed "very gradually," she says, and, as if driven by a need, she began creating portraits of women with long necks and oval faces reflecting grace and delicacy, all rendered in harmonious colors. She explores other themes and techniques.

Landscapes, scenes of daily life, and portraits coexist in a contemporary style, a blend of figuration and abstraction, a mix of materials, paper or cardboard collage, and marouflage, which adds texture to some of her canvases.

"Total abstraction bothers me; it's often where I begin a painting, but I need to find a point of reference. It's the starting point for reflection, an idea, a sharing, an exchange between the painting and myself." And these exchanges give birth to original, vibrant works that, depending on the viewer, either fill you with energy or invite you to find peace.

In her Atelier Galerie, located in the historic heart of the "Venice of Provence," this adopted Martigues resident exhibits her works on a permanent basis. She paints there and welcomes visitors with the same generosity that reflects her paintings.

One can also discover a few expressive and colorful sculptures created from assembled materials. And for several years now, she has been developing a series on the industries that shape the Martigues region: petrochemicals with Ineos, the La Mède refinery, the Lavera oil terminal, steelmaking with ArcelorMittal, and the Ponteau thermal power plant. While some may find this theme surprising, she explains: "They are part of our landscapes, that's why they appeal to me so much."

This artist, always seeking new experiences and emotions, enjoys traveling to immerse herself in new settings, new atmospheres, and fresh perspectives, returning with these impressions that she then recreates from memory in her artwork. “An artist must be guided by their impulses and instincts; they must not resist them.” This is how Marguerite Nadal paints, in bursts of energy, driven by passions, and by captured emotions.

Characters remain a prominent feature of her work. She masterfully stages them, animates them, and imbues them with a unique world; the resulting expression contributes to the originality of her art.

In a poetic atmosphere, Marguerite Nadal knows how to share her vision and inspire dreams, so let us be carried away.
