Presentation
Martigues, a natural setting that has been a favourite with film-makers since the 1910s, unveils its most beautiful scenes in a brand new exhibition highlighting its close links with the 7th art. At the Martigues Tourist and Leisure Office, in the quartier de l'île.
The "Martigues, terre de cinéma" exhibition plunges you into the fascinating world of the history of cinema and filming, with its mix of nostalgia, creativity and passion.
The exhibition was produced by the Cinémathèque municipale Prosper Gnidzaz, the Union Régionale 13- PACA de la Fédération Photographique de France and the Photoclub de Martigues.
This immersive exhibition invites you to rediscover Martigues from another angle!
Through the photo series "La photographie fait son cinéma", let yourself be carried away by the striking shots taken by the Photoclub de Martigues and the talented photographers
from URPACA.
Add to the experience with the collections of the Martigues cinémathèque. Film buffs and the curious will also be seduced by a selection of antique objects from
the film industry: vintage cameras, projectors, mandarins, advertising materials, reels and other treasures that tell the secrets of the technical evolution and
of film promotion!
Don't miss Thursday 17 July at 6pm: a talk on the history of cinema in Martigues, by Sylvie Morata, head of the Cinémathèque municipale Prosper Gnidzaz.
At the Martigues Tourist and Leisure Office, free of charge, with registration on 04 42 42 31 14.
