- Saturday 30 March at 10am: Discovering wall paintings.
Based on a fragment of an ancient mural depicting vines and grapes, we'll be talking about vines in all their forms, in Martigues, today and in the past!

- Saturday 15 June at 10am: Jousting in Martigues.
This café découverte is an opportunity to explore the popular tradition of jousting in Martigues: its history, practice and representations.
What is a "targaïre"? A "targaïre" is a fan of "targo", the name given to the naval jousting that has been practised in Provence for over 300 years.

The game of Provençal jousting differs from classic jousting in that it uses a shorter lance and a narrower Tinteino (platform).
Targo prouvençalo is played in France along the Mediterranean coast. It remains the characteristic sporting element of votive festivals in southern towns.

The Provençal joust is a confrontation on the water between two people, each on a boat, at the top of a platform known in Provence as a teinteine. The boats head towards each other and the aim of the fight is to push your opponent into the water with a spear. Protection is provided by a wooden shield that the jouster wears on his left. Provençal jousting is characterised by its violence and extreme codification.
The attacks between the players are virile and the dives spectacular.
