A noble building that has stood the test of time, the Hôtel particulier de Colla de Pradines tells the story of Martigues through its stones. By Hélène Marino, heritage curator and town archaeologist, Art, History, Archaeology and Archives Department.
In conjunction with the unique exhibition being held at the Martigues Tourist Office from 14 January to 21 March 2024.
During restoration work on the Colla de Pradines mansion, originally built for the de Turc family in 1677, the chance discovery of a well led to the unearthing of a large concentration of varied archaeological material.

The finds provide an unprecedented insight into the daily life of a family from the lower nobility of Martégale, and complement the rare archival material from the period that has come down to us.
