Presentation

Conference organized as part of the exhibition "Living! Fauna and Flora" at the Ziem Museum.
Author of the art book Belles Bêtes, Thierry Groensteen will evoke the most auspicious periods of animal art, in their specificity: the relationship of the Middle Ages to monstrosity, the naturalism of the Renaissance, the profusion of the Flemish 17th century and Dutch, the delicacy of the Japanese 18th century, the triumph of sculpture in the French 19th century, and even the new expressions of contemporary art.
