Presentation
The season opens with cabaret! Striptease, cancan, sequins, music hall: these are just some of the different acts on offer this evening.
We offer four performances to introduce you to, or simply allow you to experience, the richness and diversity of this world.
EVENING PROGRAM
• Miss Lulu
• Balkis Moutashar
• The Cabaret-Théâtre L’Étoile Bleue
• The Cabaret Jean Moulin Rouge
Miss Lulu and P’tit Pierre
A familiar face on the biggest stages and in the most famous cabarets, Miss Lulu sets down her suitcases for a triumphant recital. A tribute to music hall stars, this café-theater performance blends songs, dance, and storytelling. Accompanied by her faithful accordionist, P’tit Pierre, the diva travels through different eras and songs, sharing her passion for music, people, and life.
A Cabaret Appears – Compagnie Balkis Moutashar
A Cabaret Appears is a popular and exhilarating show that borrows from the conventions of music hall while revealing its inner workings. The Marseille-based company will unveil a few excerpts from its "B-side," a more unusual but equally festive side.
Choreographer Balkis Moutashar creates a world at the crossroads of contemporary dance and cabaret. Her work, which explores costume and clothing, has led her to collaborate with the Ballet National de Marseille and the Avignon Festival.
The Cabaret-Théâtre L’Étoile Bleue
The Cabaret-Théâtre L’Étoile Bleue company presents an exceptional excerpt from its revue. From the French Cancan to feather tableaux, and including more contemporary creations inspired by pop culture and musical comedy, this performance retraces the DNA of a free-spirited, popular, and vibrant cabaret. A moment of emotion, energy, and celebration to commemorate a decade of performance and passion.
The Cabaret Jean Moulin Rouge
Between humor and protest, the performers of the Cabaret Jean Moulin Rouge enthusiastically sing their rejection of our capitalist, patriarchal, and heteronormative society, appropriating our “traditional values” only to subvert them.
Here, they make beauty out of kitsch, tenderness out of rough edges, and glitter out of pâté en croûte. But beware, while appearances may be blatantly deceitful, the feelings are genuine.
