Production, processing and sale of pomegranates, aromatic and medicinal plants.
Plantation land located between Saint-Julien-les-Martigues (Beaumanière side) and L'Escalette, encompassing three towns (Martigues, Châteauneuf-les-Martigues, and Sausset-les-Pins).
More than 2,000 pomegranate trees and over 1,200 aromatic and medicinal plants are planted and cultivated there using agroecological methods, including two agroforestry plots.
Evelyne (producer of Côté Grenades) has chosen to work according to the principles of agroecology and agroforestry, two agricultural approaches inspired by the workings of nature. In practical terms, this means that crops, trees, and biodiversity are integrated to preserve the soil, support local communities, and produce more sustainably. The trees and hedgerows on the farm play a vital role: they protect the crops, provide shelter for beneficial wildlife, retain water, and contribute to the natural balance of the landscape.
Agroecology also guides daily practices: crop diversification, attention to soil quality, limited inputs, and the sustainable use of available natural resources. This approach aims to produce high-quality food while respecting the environment and future generations.
Through this approach, Evelyne hopes to share a vibrant agriculture, rooted in its local area, where nature becomes a valuable ally in the service of flavor, biodiversity, and sustainability.
The pomegranate is known for its numerous health benefits. This fruit, rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber, also contains punicalagins and punicic acid, known for their role in preventing many neurological and cardiovascular diseases. The pomegranate has powerful anti-inflammatory properties. It has a beneficial effect on the skin, joints, anemia, various cancers (breast, colon, prostate), diabetes, and gastric disorders.
With its fruity taste and tannic notes, pomegranate juice is a true wellness ally. The pomegranate juice produced by Côté Grenades contains no chemicals or added sugar. All pomegranate products (juice, syrup, jelly, jam, coulis) are unfiltered to preserve the fruit's beneficial properties. Pomegranate juice is best enjoyed in the morning at breakfast; one glass a day is sufficient.
