Etang de Bolmon Patafloux-Barlatier site

  • Etang de Bolmon site de Patafloux-Barlatier

The Bolmon pond site is a protected area which is the object of classification inventory at national and European level and allows to discover an exceptional fauna and flora. The pond of Bolmon, separated from the Pond of Berre by the dune cord of Jaï, is a vast brackish lagoon strongly confined, bordered on the south by the marsh of the Paluns of Marignane.
The two names, Patafloux and Barlatier, combine a pine forest and a marsh, a natural area located between the pond of Bolmon in the north and cultivated land in the south. In the pine forest of Patafloux, a botanical path allows you to meet the typically Mediterranean and protected plants. In the wetland of the Barlatier marshes, you can observe, depending on the season, flora and fauna that evoke the Camargue.
These sites are important for wintering and migration of waterbirds.
