Hôtel de Caumont - Art center
Museum Fine Arts, Painting SculpturePresentation
The Hôtel de Caumont is one of the rare urban residences in Aix "between courtyard and garden" which, by reminding us of castles in the middle of their parks, allowed their owners to show their aristocracy.
A new art center opens in one of the most beautiful eighteenth century mansions in Aix-en-Provence.
As of May 6, 2015, the Caumont Art Centre presents an ambitious cultural program putting the fine arts in the spotlight.
Located close to the Cours Mirabeau, it is currently undergoing a complete restoration that will restore it to its former glory. Visitors will discover two annual exhibitions dedicated to the great masters of the past as well as to contemporary artists.
A film on Cezanne's life in Aix screened daily, as well as concerts and lectures will complement the programming of the Hôtel de Caumont that aims at becoming a major cultural center in Aix: a place where we discover and share art with passion. Broadcasting from 10.25am to 4.55pm, every 30 minutes.
The tea room and gardens offer a haven of peace in the heart of the Mazarin district.
On the ground floor, learn more about the Arts Centre and its exhibitions in the book and culture shop. It has the same opening times as the Art Centre.
The Art Centre provides two wheelchairs that cannot be booked in advance.
