The Ulysse transport service in Métropole Aix Marseille Provence operates between Cornillon-Confoux, Fos-sur-Mer, Grans, Istres, Martigues, Miramas, Port-de-Bouc, Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône and Saint-Mitre les Remparts. See the network map.
 
The Ulysse services operates 25 lines to the centre of Martigues and in the surrounding area all year round: 3 long distance lines, 3 connecting lines and 19 local lines - singe rate €1 per trip. An additional on-request service, Allô le bus for low-population areas, and a TAD/PMR service for people with reduced mobility of 80% and over.
 
Shuttle services in Istres and Martigues provide access in the city centres for the local population. The shuttle service is free. In Martigues - the Vénitienne shuttle operates between the three districts of Jonquières, L’Ile and Ferrière . Operating hours from Monday to Saturday from 7.30am to 7.30pm. See the timetable
NB: La Vénitienne is not currently running. The service will be available again in September 2020.

Interurban transports

Cartreize links the major urban hubs in the department of the Bouches-du-Rhône and provides services to more distant communes. From Marseille to Aix-en-Provence, from Aubagne to La Ciotat, from Arles to Avignon, the Cartreize network operates around 40 regular lines including about 10 motorway shuttles and school transport. With over 10.6 million passengers in June 2016, CARTREIZE is one of the largest interurban transport networks in France.

Getting around by boat

In addition to urban lines, the Ulysse Allô le Bus service proposes a maritime shuttle in the centre of Martigues.
 
On the Chenal de Caronte, this shuttle stops at the Hôtel de ville (town hall), Médiathèque (multimedia library) and Degut. Thursday morning and Sunday morning, market days, the shuttle stops at the car park: Parking Général Leclerc. A second boat operates on Thursday mornings from September to June. The shuttle service is free.
 
From 1 October to 31 May:
. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 7am to 7pm. Public holidays from 9am to 12.30pm.
. Thursday including public holidays: Line 1 from 7am to 7pm and line 2 from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
. Saturday including public holidays:  9am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 7pm
. Sunday including public holidays: 8am to 1pm.
 
From 1 June to 30 September:
. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 7am to 7.30pm. Public holidays from 9am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 7.30pm.
. Thursday including public holidays: Line 1 from 7am to 7.30pm and line 2 from 9am to= 1pm.
. Saturday including public holidays:  9am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 7.30pm.
. Sunday including public holidays*:  8am to 1pm and line 2 (additional) from 9am to 1pm.
 
The shuttle does not operate on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.
 
- Line 1 stops at the Hôtel de ville (Ferrières), Médiathèque (L'île) and Lucien Degut (Jonquières).
- Line 2 is extended to the Général Leclerc car park (Jonquières opposite the market).

Getting around by bike

The Bouches-du-Rhône local authority has developed specific facilities to encourage cycling, taking into account different practices such as recreational, sport, etc. with user safety in mind.
 
The “Boucles du 13” circular route
Itineraries of 20 to 50 km with tourist attractions. The itineraries take attractive departmental roads with little traffic. Signage has been planned with the name, level of difficulty and length of the itinerary. The “Boucles du 13” are for occasional users wanting to discover tourist attractions and explore environmental features of the area. They are suited to all members of the family.
