Guided tour of Fort de Bouc
Fishing lake Architecture HistoryPresentation
On the territory of the Municipality of Martigues, the Fort de Bouc rises its walls of pink limestone at the mouth of the Caronte channel.
Since the Middle Ages, it has kept this passage between the Gulf of Fos and the Etang de Berre, halfway between Marseille and the Rhône.
Through its strategic position for maritime trade and control of the region, Fort de Bouc has always had a dual function, both defensive work and flagship.
It has been listed as a historical monument since January 6, 1930.
