Presentation

A stroll through the three districts of Martigues, the "Venice of Provence".
A walk commented by Jean-Philippe Lagrue, archaeologist.
For the quality of its views and its chromatic atmosphere, Provençal Venice has, since the 19th century, served as an inspiring "motif" for painters. With Jean-Philippe Lagrue, we invite you to follow in the footsteps of Félix Ziem, Nicolas de Staël, Paul Signac, André Derain, Raoul Dufy, Francis Picabia, Auguste Renoir and so many others, in the three districts of Martigues and to find the precise places where these artists set up their easels, as well as the works created with the open-air "exhibition" of reproductions of their paintings.
Opening period (s)Thursday 20 October 2022 at 2 pm.
