The life of Galileo

Cultural Theater Contemporary art
Place : Théâtre des Salins
  • La vie de Galilée

In La Vie de Galileo, Bertolt Brecht recounts the dizziness of a world that suddenly sees its order shattered.
Fascinated by the direction of Antoine Vitez in 1989, Claudia Stavisky seizes with sobriety and talent this piece still burning topicality.

"The director offered herself a master asset: Philippe Torreton, who finds there a role to his measure. It is an understatement to say that he is magnificent. Her Galileo is of a humanity, a sobriety and of a density suitable for declining all the complexities of the character, of which it is not a question of making a hero nor / or a traitor - that would be too simple. The Life of Galileo according to Brecht, Stavisky and Torreton, it is story of a fight led with patience, intelligence and stubbornness by a man passionate about his intellectual research. "
