At the end of the 19th century, a painter then (little) known under the name of Vincent, whose works he signed, settled in Arles, after having abandoned Paris.
A project lives in him: he wants to put on the canvas a deep blue, motionless, transparent, the one that disturbed him in the painting of Félix Ziem.
The investigation led by Vladimir Biaggi can then begin!
Ziem lives not far from Arles, in Martigues, in his studio-mosque with minarets, where he paints his Orientalist works.
Vincent takes the road to Martigues, by stagecoach then on foot, in the hope of finding the one he considers his "master" and to know the secret of his bruise.
As an informed philosopher and gourmet esthete, Vladimir Biaggi ventures into the novel to embody, in a sensual and colorful language, the humble splendor of Vincent's quest, the Vincent Van Gogh of the last few months.
