Presentation
Echoing the 25th edition of the poets' spring, the media library invites you to discover the "Impassable Borders", an exhibition of photographic works by the artist Catherine Cattaruzza.
“My landscapes are political and poetic” Catherine Cattaruzza.
From her work, initiated several years ago, Catherine Cattaruzza, Franco-Lebanese photographer and visual artist, intervenes and recounts her experience of borders, conflict zones, often bellicose, always problematic. She questions the arbitrariness of these human borders, their consequences and the impact on the populations who suffer from them. Around impassable borders, the geography of war, the marking of territory are themes that the artist has been questioning for many years in his practice as a visual artist...
Echoing the ephemeral installations created in 1994 in downtown Beirut at the end of the war, the artist shows what are other impassable borders, those that exist in the world, territories of war, conflicts, tension at through two examples: Lebanon-Israel and China and North Korea-Russia.
