Presentation
Helen K. tells the story of Helen Keller, the famous little American girl who suddenly became blind and deaf at the age of 18 months after an illness. A moving proposal that intertwines dance, theatre and French sign language.
In a scenography that borrows as much from botany as from the music hall, a narrator, an actress and a dancer tell us about the main stages of an exciting rehabilitation initiated by the young Annie Mansfield Sullivan. It is the shock of a meeting and a wonderful story of friendship, until the resolutely optimistic turn that the lives of this little girl and her sidekick then take. In an always playful way, the show questions young and old alike about how we view disability, but also about how language, whatever it is, transforms our perception of the world.
