Presentation

Screening under the big top and meeting with the Artigues family from Cirque Crone. On the Esplanade de l'avenue Félix Ziem, Jonquières.
- 7pm: Screening of ‘The Clowns’ (1h32), by Federico Fellini, 1970.
Federico Fellini (who wanted to be a circus director) remembers his childhood and the role the circus played in it. Acrobats, tightrope walkers and sad clowns all contributed to populating his dreams with magical images that he recalled with nostalgia.
Fellini set off on the roads of France and Italy, in search of the old clowns and their memories.

- 8.30pm to 9pm: Discussion on the place and role of the circus in 2024, and the lives of travelling circus families.
Moderated by Emmanuelle Ferrari, film consultant.

- 9pm: Aperitif and shared meal under the big top.
