Conferences: Tuesday meetings

Cultural Conference Historic
  • Tétrodon Martigues

With its label as a City of art and history, Martigues remains more than ever a city open to the eyes of others to welcome, exchange and reflect, quite simply to better be itself.
Having become in a few years a real institution typical of the Martegal territory, the RDV du Mardi, by the richness of the subjects developed, are a precious mine of cultural and historical information.
A cultural and human adventure, they enhance its many facets, restore to the inhabitants their territory, their modern or ancient history, the history of the work of their elders, the history of their current living environment.

- Around Tétrodon: Tuesday 11 October at 6 p.m.
Meeting with Thierry Durrousseau, architect.
The Tétrodon, a mobile and modular habitat created by the AUA agency, was rediscovered in 2011 in Fos-sur-Mer. Installed in 1972 to house the workers of Sonacotra, it is now labeled "remarkable contemporary architecture". Restored and installed on the banks of the Etang de Berre, it is now the property of the town of Martigues.

- On the edge of the factory. Industrial transformations and their social repercussions in the Etang de Berre: Tuesday 15 November at 5.45 p.m.
Meeting with Elena Dinubila, doctor in anthropology, associate researcher at the Center Emile Durkheim (CED).
Although surrounded by multiple controversies, the industry has been for decades a unifying element in the construction of the socio-spatial identity of the Etang de Berre. Faced with the reconfiguration of work and changes in the workforce, does industry still fulfill this identity function? The analysis of the most recent industrial transformations will shed light on the perceptions and concerns of those who, for years, have had to deal with these sites.

- Ornaments from Ponteau, Neolithic news: Tuesday 13 December at 6 p.m.
Meeting with Laurine Viel, doctor in prehistory, associate researcher at LaMPEA (Mediterranean Laboratory of Prehistory Europe Africa). The Ponteau habitat site presents a wide variety of adornment items: imported soapstone beads, shell pendants made on site, etc...
These objects, lost at the time of their use, reflect the symbolic and economic systems of the Neolithic populations.
