The Bolmon Pond site is a protected area which is the subject of a ranking inventory at national and European level and allows to discover an exceptional fauna and flora. The Bolmon pond, separated from the Etang de Berre by the Jaï dune belt, is a large, heavily confined brackish lagoon, bordered on the south by Marignane's Maruns' Swamp.

The two names, Patafloux and Barlatier, combine a pine forest and a marsh, a natural area between the Bolmon pond in the north and the cultivated lands in the south.

In the pine forest of Patafloux, a botanical path allows to meet typical Mediterranean plants and protected. In the wetland of the Barlatier marsh, we can observe, according to the seasons, a fauna and a flora that evoke the Camargue. These sites are important for wintering and migration of waterbirds.
