Le Percolateur is a platform for photography. Its mission is to promote and support photographic creation in the Mediterranean area through training, communication and artistic and professional exchanges.
Le Percolateur's training space (designed by the Marseille architect Sidonie Daher) is located in the center of Marseille, in a booming district with excellent public transport links. It is located on the first floor of a three-story building, in the premises of a former coffee machine manufacturing workshop. It consists of an office, a classroom and library, a courtyard, an open kitchen, a bathroom, toilets and a guest room with a shower room to accommodate speakers and photographers in residence.
Le Percolateur's mission is to raise awareness of photography among the widest possible audience, to provide tools for young artists, to train professionals (photographers, iconographers, photo editors, journalists, etc.), and to create an international cultural dynamic that will benefit the city and the region.
Through its educational activities and its involvement in photographic creation in the Mediterranean, Le Percolateur aims to be a point of reference for the Marseilles public interested in photography and a place for meetings, exchanges and creation for photographers and image professionals from all the countries of the Mediterranean basin. This approach is part of the desire to promote the diversity and richness of Mediterranean cultures, to encourage exchanges between these cultures by bringing out common interests and objectives.
