Originally, there is the passion and the will of two former Carroussain fishermen: Jean-Claude Bresson and Claude Fasciola. Heirs to the knowledge of several generations of fishermen, they have spent most of their lives on the sea, here, opposite the villages of Carro and La Couronne. Aware that our time was gradually seeing the traces of its past disappear, they decided to bring together images and objects retracing the history of our coast. It is their energy and their passion for sharing that would give birth to the heritage committee and its showcase: the Petit Musée de Carro.

Quickly joined by many collaborators, this civic action will anchor in the heart of the village a place of conservation and transmission of a rich and little-known vernacular heritage.

If the past still holds a large place here, it must above all make it possible to maintain and revitalize a social bond essential to rural life. Local, national and international, visitors are offered the keys to our history for a visit that guides them beyond the postcard.

Why do our villages exist here? How were they born, what fed them and made them evolve? how does the present still bear witness to their history? What is their place in the future?
